Professionals or students who are proficient in Lean Six Sigma will often have better job prospects and more opportunities within a company or even the institution they are part of. Unlike what many believe, high school students also have the opportunity to benefit from LSS as long as they are trained properly, and the myth that college students or workers are the only wants getting something out of the methodology can no longer be considered. Since individuals gain the knowledge and skills to boost projects, systems, and processes, anyone knowing how to work with LSS will be a great asset and have more job prospects.

At Lean Six Sigma Curriculum for Detroit High School Students of Michigan, we make sure to offer high school students the opportunity to get introduced to this methodology. To do so, we open our main two belts—levels in LSS—in which they can get trained and certified as requested.

LSS is often misunderstood to be a tool that only professionals or companies can use to improve processes. But the concept and idea have changed over the past ten years. This is due to recent implementations and inculcation of LSS in education.

Lean Six Sigma’s strength lies in its ability to be applied by anyone who is trained, which means its real value lies in the person who knows how to work with it and make the methodology boost processes for any company or personal projects.

This is why high school students can even get a job with any company without any prior experience as long as they know how to use LSS.

It offers the opportunity to practice skills many high school students miss during their high school years.

LSS isn’t easy, but it isn’t the most difficult methodology either, and one of the perks is that it helps you improve all your skills and add new ones to your set.

This allows students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to manage daily activities and understand how some real-life work can be and why they must be proficient in different areas and aspects.

This is only possible if students are able to comprehend and access the information and the content is not altered.

How We Get High School Students Trained

Only the yellow and green LSS Belts are available in our company. These represent the methodology’s intermediate and introductory levels. If you are a student, school board, or institution that is interested in LSS belts, this is all you will need.

  • The yellow belt focuses more on personal skills. This belt helps students build confidence and manage their problems.
  • The green belt is team-based. They learn how to work together, develop leadership qualities and problem-solving skills, as well as improve their decision-making.

Our team has over ten years of experience working with Sigma and is confident that we can be the experts your kids or students need. Or maybe you need us as the student.

LSS principles and concepts are included in the training. We want you to be ready and get started with the yellow belt if you haven’t taken it before, as a green belt requires you to be trained on the first one.

After completing this training, students should be able to understand the system and how they can work in an LSS team. They will be able to use the knowledge they have gained and the hours they spent in it.

The belt, just like regular courses, will dictate the topics and skills covered. But don’t worry, as each belt will prepare you for every opportunity.

  • Yellow Belt Outline.

Students will be taught the basics of terminology, methodology, and data collection. They will also learn how it works and key principles and concepts.

  • Green Belt Outline.

Lean 6 Sigma will be taught to them more practical, and they will be able to use the methodology on a large scale. We want to encourage teamwork and leadership in order to help them achieve their goals.

Lean Six Sigma is more than just a methodology. This belt training covers the main topics for its implementation: DMAIC, SIPOC and Risk mitigation, Regression Analysis, and Problem-solving.
